Questions we get asked
Is the Mumvuri Project an orphanage?
No. The Mumvuri Project is not an orphanage. We care for orphans and vulnerable children who live with their extended family, such as a grandparent, an aunt or uncle, or an older sibling. We support the whole household so the child can stay in that family and in school.
Where is the Mumvuri Project?
We are based at Stand 932, Kuwadzana, Banket, Zimbabwe, in Mashonaland West, about an hour north-west of Harare.
How is my donation used?
Donations are directed to one of four causes you choose: school fees and uniforms, medical and mercy, vocational and tertiary training, or income-generating projects. Gifts go straight to the care of the children in Banket.
Can I donate without a PayPal account?
Yes. The PayPal donate buttons accept any debit or credit card without needing a PayPal account. You can also give by bank transfer using the details on our donate page.
Can I sponsor a particular child?
Yes. If you would like to sponsor a child’s school fees, uniform and equipment, please contact us and we will tell you who you are helping and how they are getting on.
How can I volunteer?
Volunteers are welcome, from a short visit to a year or more. Fill in the form on our volunteer page and we will be in touch to talk about how you could help.
