Medical and Mercy
A number of the children under our care are HIV positive and require medical treatment. We also assist women suffering from cancer bringing relief by helping to clean, care and cook for her and her children, assist with school fees where required and where necessary go to the hospital with them or for them.
Many of our orphans have very few items of personal clothing with few owning a warm hoodie or sweater for winter months. Generally their clothes are threadbare and their shoes tatty. Our goal is to adequately clothe our children. Blankets are also needed.
In the past, every month, we were able to assist our orphans living with their extended family with parcels containing basic essentials for the household which the orphans would carry to their caregiver to bring them light relief. Unfortunately we are not able to carry out this vital work due to current financial constraints, however, we do invite our orphans and their caregivers / family to the Project Community Centre for a day of fun, games, sports and a good meal each year and more often where possible. In addition, the Mumvuri Project Community Centre is blessed with a variety of fruit bearing trees such as peach, banana, mulberry, guava, lemon, mango, which when in season are shared with them.
